Andrew joined Broome Associates in October 1999. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1992. Coming from a sales background in the textile industry, it was a natural transition into a sales position with Broome Insurance. He has extensive knowledge in employee benefits (ACA Compliance, Benefit Administration, Technology, Self-Funding, Wellness Programs) as well as all aspects of individual health and life/disability coverages. Andrew is currently serving as Vice President of the NC Association of Health Underwriters, is Past President of Western Piedmont Association of Health Underwriters, participates on the NC Department of Insurance’s Health Advisory Board to Deputy Commissioner Michelle Osborn, and has been a multi-year qualifier of the Leading Producers Round Table. You can count on Andrew to introduce you to the latest in innovative ideas, as these organizations help protect the consumers of insurance and strengthen insurance products, support insurance agents, and affect legislation that impacts the industry.
Andrew is also involved in the community. He is part of Ignite Hickory, the host of the National Day of Prayer in Hickory, serving as the 2014 to 2017 committee chair for the Business Hour of Prayer. Andrew is a Participant and Team Leader in the Hickory Jaycees Corporate Challenge. He is a past graduate of the Catawba County Chamber’s Leadership Catawba Program and is an Advisory Board Member. He participates in many community fundraising runs, rides and golf tournaments supporting various non-profits, as well as the community involvement organized by Broome’s Good Vibes Program. Andrew feels most encouraged by the thought behind Good Vibes. “Just knowing someone is thinking about me and took the time to leave me a quick note and a small gift is encouraging. It is nice knowing that I get to leave someone a quick note and a small personal gift and that they get to feel the same unconditional encouragement I felt.” In his free time, Andrew enjoys photography and video, running, cycling, target shooting, health insurance legislation, and attending his children’s sporting events and school activities. No photos
