Broome Associates announces new equity partner, Lori Alala

Broome Associates is honored to announce that Lori Alala has recently brought her talents as an equity partner to the Hickory-based independent insurance agency. Mrs. Alala received her BSBA with a double major in Risk Management and Insurance and Real Estate and Urban Analysis from Appalachian State University. Upon graduating from ASU, Mrs. Alala began her career with a life and health insurance agency in Hickory, NC. In 1996, she was named Partner and specialized in the area of employee benefits. She focused on serving her clients by developing and implementing creative benefit plan designs, alternate financing arrangements, dedicated customer service and ACA compliance and education. In 2013, Mrs. Alala sold her ownership interest and opened the Northwestern Mutual office in downtown Hickory. As a Financial Representative and Agent, she worked closely with business owners, individuals and families to create financial security and mitigate economic risk.

Mrs. Alala is licensed in Life and Health, Medicare Supplements, Long Term Care and Securities. She has completed the National Association of Health Underwriters PPACA certification program, and has worked closely with employer clients regarding the impact of PPACA and ongoing industry challenges. She has served as the Chairman of the NCDOI Life and Health Agents Advisory Committee, a past President and current Board member for the Western Piedmont Association of Health Underwriters and a past Board member of NCAHU. She is a NAHU Honor Council recipient, a LPRT Soaring Eagle and she currently serves on the Brantley Risk & Insurance Board at Appalachian State University. A past President for Hickory High School PTA and past YMCA of Catawba Valley Volunteer of the Year, Mrs. Alala currently gives back to the community by serving as Chief Volunteer Officer for the YMCA CV Corporate Board. A mother of 4, she resides in Hickory with her husband, Eddie. Mrs. Alala enjoys running, water skiing and activities with family and friends.
